accolades...just know you did a great job! Jerald
Summers and his crew flipped so many burgers, they wore out their
spatula...and grills....literally!. I will bring some of the
comments that we have received as feedback to the next meeting. The
club netted over $2,000 thanks to your efforts....now we can continue to
mow the lawn and pay the porta-john bill. Mike Manring has written
an article for the AMA magazine that should appear in the District VIII
Director's report within a few months. For those with access to the
internet, Van Widick has videos of the event posted on his web-site:

On July
26, scores of club members met at the field for our monthly meeting. This
much higher than usual attendance was due to the pleadings of the Jumbo
Committee for help in setting up for the ensuing event on July 30 and 31.

Several members set up the 200 foot long safety fence between the pilot
stations and the taxi-way. Many others drove t-posts and set up 500 feet
of spectator restraining lines going as far north and south as mowing
would allow.

Each division of responsibility was generously assisted with prep work and
followed up with excellent sign-ups on volunteer sheets for the Jumbo.

The
“Day Crew” members went over final food lists and supplies sheets for
the concession area. Then the parking volunteers walked the area and
received instructions about parking trailers, spectators, and television
crews. In a short period of about ninety minutes, the site was prepared
because a small army of volunteers attended the meeting. No other regular
club business was discussed.
