The meeting began with a
report from Randall about the Copan Fly-In, which was well attended by
Glue Dobbers. Tim Davie and Doug Bromley were even fortunate to win
some nice raffle prizes. Randall also reported that the Stillwater
pylon racing group had grown to six pilots. Chris Blackwood placed
second while his dad, Randall, placed sixth.
We discussed the Tuesday
night training sessions for awhile. To help increase attendance it was
suggested that we post the list of instructor pilots and their phone
numbers. Chris Raymer, the most active instructor, is in possession of
the club trainer for any new student who does not own a plane. It was
also suggested that we consider taking rookies to the hobby shop for
simulator time as part of the training. |

Our mowing volunteer, who is
doing a wonderful job and saving us a ton of money, is not expected to
weed eat around the sun shelters, parking blocks, etc. Therefore we are
asking for volunteers to take their weed eater to the field occasionally
and keep the place trimmed up nicely.
Three
members provided information and entertainment by bringing their latest
plane projects to the meeting for show and tell. Scott Johnson
displayed his beautiful, hand crafted, scratch built, foam Pond Racer.
It is a twin boom, twin motor electric flyer that is a must see |

There is video of it posted on RCGroups.com. Angel
Vides brought his Lancair that is receiving a new paint job. And Calvin
Campbell showed us his foam P-51.
Finally, Jack Rogers gave
us a report on his press release efforts for the Heatwave. We have
already had one TV station come out to the field, and another is
scheduled soon. The July meeting will be held at the field instead of
the library. Bring your hammers, weed eaters, and muscle, because we
will be preparing for the Heatwave.
