The
May meeting of the Tulsa Glue Dobbers was held at the club field on an
extremely windy evening that forced us all inside the clubhouse. The
minutes of the April meeting were read and approved. The Treasurer’s
report revealed a balance of $11,200. The mention of money somehow got
us all talking about renegade pilots who use our field without paying
their dues. It was agreed that all members should feel encouraged to
remind people not using a current membership frequency clip with a
current 2007 sticker to get into compliance immediately.
Grant announced that the
windscreen material for the sun shelter roof has been ordered and will
cost $309. Doug said he was about ready to start the replacement safety
fence along the flight line. Note: Since the meeting, Doug has
completed construction of the new fence, and the cost was $285.
Reporting on preparations
for the Heatwave In The Heartland, Tim Davie noted that we are no longer
able to borrow a public address system, and he is seeking a used system
on EBay or elsewhere. Members present approved an expenditure of
approximately $1500 for this purpose. Note: Since the meeting, Tim
has acquired a nice system, and our PA problems are officially resolved.
Matt Hodges is still looking forward to coming to Tulsa, and we
are advertising the B-29 with X-1 rocket plane as the largest radio
controlled aircraft in the country. We agreed that it was time to email
al members seeking sign ups for the various jobs at the Heatwave. The
meeting adjourned at 8:20.
