Randall
Blackwood opened the meeting at the Tulsa Glue Dobbers airfield. The
first topic of the meeting was Relations Group Home for Orphan
children. Randall was asking for volunteers to help the children build
AMA Delta Dart rubber band powered airplanes. The volunteers need to
bring CA glue, accelerator if needed and an X-acto knife to help build
the planes. This event will happen September 30, at R.L. Jones airport
in the Tulsa Technology Center class room A-144 from 9:30 until
2:00 p.m.. Guest Speakers to be Grant Wilson and his B-36 and Dr. Guy
Baldwin. A motion was made for the Club to |
|
pay for the class room of $200.00 and it was
approved.
Second topic the Club voted and approved Chris
Reamer to purchase another Club trainer an Sig LT-40. Grant Wilson
spoke to the club about his trip to the Reno Air show, Cliff Mcgee's
race and the B-36 moving the crowd with the sounds and smoke of the
engines.
Next the
Club members requested to have the field east of the runway brush
hogged, so we tabled that until we could get some cost estimates
for that large of an area. Grant Wilson made a |
|
motion to take down the barrier fence in front of the
pilots. The motion was seconded and voted down for the removal of the
fence. Then there was a call for a midnight raid to remove the fence by
some radical members, so we will see how long the fence stands.
The next meeting will be held at the Martin
Regional Library, 2601 South Garnett Rd, Tulsa, Ok 74129, October 24th,
2006. Meeting was adjourned.
