Minutes of August Club Meeting

Fun Fly/Family Picnic

The August meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 23 at the club field. Randall started by disseminating left over coupons, fliers and catalogs from the Jumbo. He read some letters from participants complimenting us on our event, and he noted that nine different states were represented by 103 registered pilots. The review of local events included a report on the Bristow Air Show, a note that the Copan fly-in was rained out, and a listing of the following upcoming events; The American Turf Fliers Swap and Fly on Sept. 5, The Elk City Fly-In on September 17, and The Muskogee T.R.A.M.P.S. Fly-In on October 15.

The Treasurer’s report noted a net income from the Jumbo of $2200 raising our treasury from about $11,000 to about $13,000. Three years ago the balance was $18,000 and we have made many capital improvements

Randall also proposed the creation of a new club officer position, “Newsletter and Website Webmaster.” This proposal will be voted on at the September club meeting.

After some healthy discussion about timing and menu, it was decided to hold a Fall club fly-in and picnic for all members on Saturday, October 1. Anyone volunteering to cook or provide a grill should speak to Randall.

since then, but with current dues of $60 per year, our expenses outrun our income. Randall proposed raising the dues to $80 while leaving the dues at $60 for seniors. We would use the same senior age as is used by The AMA for their membership dues. This issue will be voted on at the October club meeting and requires a simple majority of those members present.
