The August 28, 2007 meeting was called to order by
Randall Blackwood. Randall announced that we did not have minutes for
the July meeting because the July meeting was used as a work period to
get ready for the Heatwave in the Heartland, fly-in.
Del Delahorne announced that he has provided the
Club with copies of photos from the Heatwave in the Heartland 2007, they
filled 3 CD’s. All he asked is that anyone that gets copies does not
sell the photos. The photos are in the possession of Michael Manring.
If anyone would like a copy of the CD please contact Michael at
tulsagluedobbers@cox.com . The photos will also be available on the
Tulsa Glue Dobbers web Site.
Randall then announced that “Tulsa People” had an
article written about the Club featuring Jack Rogers, Christopher
Blackwood, Grant Wilson and Randall Blackwood. The article is published
in the September addition of “Tulsa People Magazine”.

Randall then turned the discussion on the Heatwave in
the Heartland. It was discussed we may need assistance from the Tulsa
Police for traffic control during next year’s Heatwave. Also, we may
want to clear the trees back on the north end of the field. We could
open up a significant amount of parking and flight line by clearing the
trees back to where the barn is on the north side of the field. A
question came up asking if the Tulsa Parks department would help clean
up the trees? Another question came up on mowing. If we open up more
of the field that requires mowing, could we find someone to brush-hog
the field for the hay? Finally, the results of the Heatwave were
reviewed. We did well with this year’s Heatwave. We estimated well
over 2000 spectators. Even with our limited ability to ask for
donations, we netted approximately $3,800 from the Heatwave.
Jack Rogers announced that he was trying to put
together a float fly at the Cookson Airpark in Cookson
